by Stacy DriskellChamber President Hello, for those of you that don’t know me, my name is Stacy Driskell and I am the President of YOUR local Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce located at 104 S Powell Parkway . This column will serve a couple of functions. First will be to highlight a few members and their business each week and second will to keep you updated on upcoming events. We have both business and individual members all of which will tell you that membership in the GACC has its benefits and rewards. This past Monday April 20th we held our 2nd Annual Spring Golf Tournament. The tournament was great. Everyone had a really good time. There was lots of food fun and prizes to be had by all including the infamous “Chipolte Burrito on the course” that we have had for our players two years in a row. A special thanks goes out to the committee which consisted of Kim DeMasters of Key Insurance, Kim Teel of Grayson County Community College, and Jennifer Carlile of Smith-Barney, Leslie Luscombe, GACC Communications Director, and myself. Many thanks to our Lunch Sponsor, Anna Market Center and our golf ball sponsor, Pogue Construction. Congratulations to our winners, first place went to Team MPEG Marketing consisting of Jason McDonald, Brian McDonald, Gary McDonald, and Mark Pungcmittung. Second place went to Team Anna Business Park; Gary Billups, Charlie James, Steve Chambless, and Ed Cordera. Third place went to Team Danforth Life Partners; Dan Allen, Ed Mills, Pat Phelps, and Mike Cole. The coveted last place went to Team Anna Chirpractic/ Collin County Adventure Camp; Dr. Cameron Roe, Rusty Patton, Kevin Spaeth, and Chris Keien. Thank you to all who attended we look forward to next year. Collin County Adventure Camp’s Golf Tournament is this coming Monday April 27th. Be sure to go out and help them raise money to help kids go to camp. Remember to “vote informed” by attending the “Meet the Candidate”. This year we will hold this forum at JKB Elementary located at 2725 Bryant Farm Road just off of HWY 5 in Anna at 6:30 pm. We will host both the Anna City Council/Mayor candidates as well as the Anna ISD Trustee candidates.
