WITH VIOLENT STORMS ROLLING THROUGH OUR AREA well into the night last Saturday, Anna residents were alerted of impeding danger, not once, but actually three times by Code Red weather alert phone calls. Each call, the first in late afternoon, the second early evening, and the third late evening, preceded the three storms that were heading toward Anna. If you have not signed up for Code Red, please do so. And, like the Boy Scouts say, “Be Prepared.” |

ON THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING I hiked (well, to be honest, walked) a portion of the new Natural Springs Park trail.
With my ornately carved Jamaican walking stick in hand (one never knows what wild creatures may be lurking in the woods), I soon found out that the trail is still a work in progress.

LONG TIME ANNA RESIDENT JOE FINLEY JR., at last week's City Council meeting, was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for donating a number of crape myrtles to the city. In accepting the certificate, Mr. Finley quipped that “they are growing better outside City Hall than they did in my yard.”
