ANNA, Texas – Sue Rattan Elementary PTA held their 2nd annual Walk A Thon on April 3. All the students had approximately 25 minutes to walk or run laps to raise money to purchase a shade structure to cover the playground.
Jocelyn Mauzy, Rattans PTA treasurer, is hoping to raise $7,000. “Last year, the PTA did pretty good, and we feel pretty confident that we can have an even better year,” she said.
Ann Goade, Rattans PTA president said, “A shade structure to cover Rattans playground can cost anywhere from $8,000 to $20,000, and this will give us a huge head start.”
The PTA has already purchased four picnic tables this year that were installed near the playground and hope to have the shade structure bought by the end of next year.
The PTA would like to give a huge thank you to all of their sponsors to date, including Texas Star Bank, Germania Insurance, Anna Chiropractic Center, Brookshires, Domino’s Pizza, Bradshaw and Son, Nature’s Purpose Massage Therapy, Independent Bank, The Body Shop and Genzel Plumbing Company. |
