Robber strikes! Suspect caught on video in Love’s robbery

ANNA, Texas – Anna Police are still asking for help in identifying a suspect, caught on video, robbing Love's Travel Mart. The robbery occurred about 9:40 p.m. on April 23.

According to information, as well as a video provided by Anna Police Department, a white male in his early 20's entered Love's through the south entrance, carrying something wrapped in a black jacket. Anna Police Sgt. Caponera said investigators believe the man had either a rifle or a shotgun wrapped in the jacket.

The robber is seen in the video watching the front counter clerk and patiently waiting for the customers to clear out. He then put on a pair of sunglasses, approached the counter and laid the black jacket down on the counter, displaying the barrel of the weapon, and demanded that she hand over the contents of the cash drawer.

The cashier is seen calmly taking out the cash drawer, and the robber quickly stuffs the money in his pocket. According to Sgt. Caponera, the robber then apologized and left the store in a hurry, through the same south entrance, in an unknown direction. The cashier grabbed the store manager, who contacted Anna police, according to Sgt. Caponera and as seen on the video.

The robber is described as a white male, in his early 20's, 5'6" to 5"8" tall, weighing approximately 170 to 190 pounds. He had short, brown hair and a mustache. He was wearing a green stocking cap, white sunglasses, a white T-shirt with the words and logo for Wonder Bread on the front. The shirt had either black or dark blue trim on the collar and sleeves. He had on blue jean shorts, white calf-length socks and dark tennis shoes. He was carrying a black jacket and is armed with an unknown type rifle or shotgun.
